Sterilizers shall be horizontal with vertically opening double door, horizontal chamber
type (rectangular chamber with smooth round corners and jacket) with fully automated operating
system. The entire construction including all components shall be fully compliant with cGMP
The chamber shall be rectangular, with smooth and rounded corners.
The chamber shall be designed as per GB150 pressure vessel code.
The chamber shall be made of AISI 316L or 304 with surface roughness less than 0.5µm.
The chamber shall be re-inforced with an AISI 304 jacket.
The sterilizer support frame for the entire structure shall be made of AISI 304.
The sterilizer shall be able to reach and maintain sterilization temperature of 121°±1.0°C
All Steam sterilizers shall have double door.
The door made of AISI 316L with internal surface roughness less than 0.5µm.
Sliding door models. Door opening and closing shall be automatic.
The door gaskets made of high temperature resistant silicone rubber with rounded corners.
The following door safety features provided for operator safety:
Door interlocking to prevent simultaneous opening of both the doors.
Door process lock to prevent opening of doors when the process is on.
Sterile side door to open only after sterilization cycle.
The sterilization chamber shall be insulated with thick mineral wool, hold in place by an outer
cover of AISI 304. Chamber insulation shall be in such a way that the external surface
temperature shall not exceed 50ºC during operation.
All piping made of AISI 316 with internal surface roughness less than 0.5µm.
All welds on piping made with orbital TIG method.
All non contact surfaces shall be of AISI 304.
All pipes installed to ensure the possibility to drain them completely and avoid condensate residuals..
Steam traps of sanitary design shall be provided in the steam lines for condensate removal.
All the pipe fittings shall be of sanitary Tri-clover type.
